For those still hesitant to travel, enjoy a slice of Bali with “pragina : EMOSI” created by a duo who shares a deep love for Balinese dance. Malaysian-based dancer Emi grew up in Indonesia where she has spent her life mastering Balinese dance from the age of four. She has opened KENZO’s fashion show and performed at the Singapore International Festival of Arts. Zhafir Muzani, who also trained in Indonesia, has won four awards for his spellbinding Balinese dance performance.  Together, they bring you “pragina : EMOSI” (pragina means dancer), a coming together of traditional and contemporary Balinese dance. You will see pieces that are entirely authentic to the traditional art form from the facial expressions down to the footwork while some pieces cross over to the contemporary in hope of building greater appreciation towards the “Nusantara” art form so that this tradition can continue over time.  Staged at klpac in November 2021, this performance recording is a rare opportunity to experience Balinese dance and its possibilities, brought to life by Emi and Zhafir along with another talented dancer Shafiq Yussof to the sounds of the Balinese flute played by MK Ridzuan. pragina : EMOSI (pragina = Penari dalam bahasa Bali) merupakan eksplorasi gerakan Bali yang dieksperimenkan antara tradisional dan kontemporari. Menampilkan beberapa karya tradisional dan kontemporari berlandaskan gerakan Bali yang meluahkan pelbagai emosi melalui wajah dan gerak tubuh penari. Percampuran antara tradisional Bali dan kontemporari adalah sebagai bentuk apresiasi seni nusantara agar tak lapuk dek hujan, tak lekang dek panas.

Life Sdn Bhd: Differences

Life Sdn Bhd has touched many of us in many ways, since the beginning of the series in 2004. We began with What It Means to be Malaysian, for 3 years, performed by actors and non-actors. Patrick Teoh then quipped…Aiya Faridah, after 3 years cukuplah, what else is there to say… So, so wrong Patrick. There was so much more to say then and even more now. Life then moved on to personal issues that confronted us such as breast cancer, abuse, refugees, human trafficking, people living with HIV and AIDS ending last year with Voices of the Young. Differences however touched the nerves in a way we never expected. Differences, which was staged in 2021, brought out the real stories from real people that we thought would touch your raw nerve but yet smile, chuckle or hide that pain behind a laugh. Whatever. Life Sdn Bhd was created in the aftermath of the devastating 2003 floods that destroyed The Actors Studio’s iconic space at Plaza Putra underneath Dataran Merdeka. It was the very production that reopened klpac after its third lockdown and an equally devastating year due to the pandemic. Bangsawan Hikayat Si Miskin Menjadi Raja

Amir Hamzah, putera mahkota kerajaan Kota Batu Putih adalah seorang anak raja yang bosan dengan kehidupan bangsawan, manakala Kadir Jabun anak keluarga miskin menyimpan impian mengecapi kehidupan mewah seperti keluarga diraja. Kedua-dua mereka yang dilahirkan pada tarikh dan tahun yang sama mempunyai wajah seiras, telah bertukar tempat dan kedudukan ekoran satu insiden di taman istana. Pengembaraan Amir Hamzah sebagai anak gelandangan bermula, demikian juga kejanggalan Kadir yang kini adalah seorang anak raja. Amir Hamzah mendengar terlalu banyak keluh-kesah rakyat yang tak pernah dijangka olehnya, sementara Kadir menyedari bahawa kehidupan keluarga diraja tidaklah seindah yang diimpikan. Kedua-dua mereka mengharungi kekeliruan dan pengalaman baru, dalam usaha untuk mengetahui kehidupan yang berbeza dan berusaha untuk kembali kepada kehidupan yang asal.

Barroco a baroque Concert

Often known for its extravagant use of dynamics and ornamenations, Baroque music will be heavily featured in this upcoming Kamerata KL concert. Programme includes works by Avison and Corelli; Respighi’s Ancient Airs and Dances will interject the programme with a 20th century perspective of “ancient” Baroque music, before the ensemble presents Bach’s Brandenburg Concerto no. 3 and Keyboard Concerto in D minor, featuring Thai pianist Poom Prommachart.

月光 Moonlight（放映会）

《月光》话剧根据真人真事，并结合中英经典文学著作改编创作，由国际艺人锺洁希领衔主演并担任第一女主角。该剧曾为癌症病患筹募基金，在全国巡回演出10场，场场爆满、好评如潮。故事讲述锺洁希饰演的杨晓凡，是一位充满生命力、性格开朗爱笑的女生，在经历爱情后逐渐体会人生的酸甜苦辣。她在两位性格迥异的男子之间徘徊，同时随着坎坷身世被揭开，与家庭关系也陷入矛盾与挣扎，使她在人生抉择中感到迷惘无助。剧中通过爱情、亲情、道德与责任等多重情感冲突交织推进剧情，层层递进、高潮迭起，让观众在故事发展中深深投入，并随着人物命运的起伏而感动落泪。

音乐盒 Music Box（放映会）

A tale of romance, family, everlasting friendships, and unchanging, true love, “Music Box”, based on a true story. To raise funds for cancer patients, Jessie Chung toured around the world with the stage play “Music Box”, performing 17 shows, each time to a full house of enthusiastic audience.

别说爱错 Meant To Be（放映会）

请说爱我，别说爱错 《别说爱错》是一部现代浪漫爱情温馨小品，改编经典爱情小说重现舞台。 星音符邀请来自美国的李安田亲自操刀执导兼主演，锺洁希担任第一女主角。参与演出《别说爱错》话剧的演员包括了马杰飞《音乐盒》及《红楼梦》的男主角，目前也是大学主修戏剧及音乐表演系，同时也集聚了多位资深演员同台演出。 Say you love me, that we’re meant to be. “Meant to Be” is a heartful, romantic stage adaptation of a classic novel about modern love. Raising funds for the cause of cancer, the stage play has been performed eight times, each time to a full house. Symphony Theatre invited Paul Lee from the U.S. to direct and star in the stage play, while Jessie Chung stars as lead actress. Also performing in the play “Meant to Be” is Jeffrey Beh, who starred in “Music Box” and “The Dream of Red Mansions”. At present, he is a graduate student majoring in performing arts and music. The cast is also comprised of many experienced actors and actresses. 没有泪的天空 Tearless Sky（放映会）

锺洁希饰演一位活泼开朗的女生，一次把物件归还给失主（李安生），因此耽误了工作而丢了这份工。几经波折，她终于找到一份看护工作，遇见一位富公子（林霆坚），两人从陌生到熟悉… 《没有泪的天空》，一部改编自经典爱情小说的感人话剧，由锺洁希担任女主角，男主角皆为李安生与林霆坚，马杰飞、李安田执导；同时也集聚了多位资深演员同台演出。         Jessie Chung plays a lively, cheerful girl who returns a lost item to its owner (John Lee) and loses her job due to showing up to work late. After many twists and turns, she finally finds a job as a caregiver and meets a rich young man (Terry Lim). The two begin to break the ice... “Tearless Sky”, a touching stage play based on a classic romance novel, stars well-known artist Jessie Chung. Symphony Theatre artists John Lee and Terry Lim also star in the play alongside many experienced actors.

SHOW A 《救赎》 “Save Me” | 《陪我玩多一次，好吗？》 “Stay With Me” | 《紧急播报》 “Breaking News” SHOW B 《网》 “Addiction” | 《HEY!》 “Hey!” | 《我有一个姐姐》 “I Have a Sister” 隆中华戏剧学会于1993年成立，目前由“TEAM聚团”的戏剧老师指导，分别为刘家荣(Milo)教练、林勇豪(Shawn)教练、王冠庭(Kenneth)教练。本学会近年来举办了许多精彩的活动，比如2015年的大型公演《再见，放牛班》、2016年的戏剧交流营、2017年的小品演出《剧•说》，这届小品演出的三部作品还代表了本校参赛槟城伊美可与“祟young”全国中学戏剧比赛，并夺得了最佳戏剧铜奖、最佳入围奖、最佳女演员等奖项；谈到奖项，本学会在历年的全国戏聚奖也获得了不少佳绩。在2018年，配合隆中华戏剧学会创立25周年还展开了一系列的周年庆活动，如内部观摩、校友分享会等等；而在2019年也举行了本学会第一届的对外观摩《第二空间》，本届对外观摩的作品仍可在本学会的官方帐号看到哦。 Chonghwa Independent Highschool Drama Society was founded in 1993. It is guided by three experienced coaches from Team theater, which are Mr. Milo, Mr. Shawn and Mr. Kenneth.We have also held a lot of great performances and activities, such as “So Long Rascals'' in 2015, a drama culture camp in 2016 and a sketch show called《剧•说》in 2017, three performances from this sketch show participated in the Penang Imeco and “祟young” National Middle School Drama Competition. They have brought back several awards, such as the Bronze award for Best Drama, Best Finalist Award, Best Actress Award and so on. On the same topic, we have also won several awards in the Team Drama Awards. In the year 2018, we had a series of activities, like an internal sketch show, Alumni sharing session and others to celebrate the 25th anniversary of our society‘s founding; our society also held the first external sketch show “Second Space” in 2019, our performances are available on our official social media platforms. 2022年隆中华戏剧学会第四届小品演出的主题为 “戏nema” 。由“戏剧” 与 “Cinema”结合演变而来，寓意英语单词“Cinema”电影院的意思。在因为疫情影响的新常态之下，就让我们一起透过线上的平台，齐聚一堂，共同享受本次的表演。 The Theme of the Fourth Sketch Show of Chong Hwa Independent Highschool Drama society 2022 is “Xinema”. It comes from the word ‘drama’ in Chinese and ‘Cinema’, and forms the word ‘Xinema’. As the pandemic had affected our plans, let us enjoy the performances on an online platform together. 本次小品演出共有六部作品，分别为《救赎》、《陪我多一次，好吗？》、《紧急播报》、《网》、《HEY!》以及《我有一个姐姐》，每一部作品都由本学会的会员自编自导自演。 This sketch show includes six performances，which are “Save Me”, “Stay With Me”, “Breaking News”, “Addiction”, “Hey!” and “I Have a SIster”, every performance is self-directed by the members from our society.

《时代革命》马来西亚专场放映会

《时代革命》记录了2019年香港人因反对逃犯条例修订案，上街请命而发展成一场全球关注的公民抗命运动。2021年《时代革命》于康城影展做世界公映，及后入选了不同的国际电影节，同年11月获得台湾金马奖最佳纪录片。如今，响应“《时代革命》全球同步，自由之春遍地开花”的号召，电影来到马来西亚，让关注公民社会、民主自由的大家一同见证这部重要的时代记录。周冠威导演希望，电影能让世界更关注香港的情况，也让流散在不同地方的香港人得到一份拥抱。 Revolution Of Our Times documents 2019 Hong Kong protest that’s against a proposed extradition legislation and Chinese authoritarian rule in general. It made its debut at #Cannes Film Festival in July 2021 and later got nominated at numerous international film festivals before winning The Best Documentary at Taiwan’s #GoldenHorseAwards in November 2021. Now, we finally get to watch the film right here in Malaysia! The director Kiwi Chow wishes to let the world know what’s REALLY going on in Hong Kong and happening to Hong Kongers during these times.

La voix humaine (The Human Voice)

Kuala Lumpur City Opera (KLCO) will be presenting a forty-minutes, one act opera for soprano written by French composer Francis Poulenc based on a play by Jean Cocteau. The opera consists of a woman's last phone conversation with her lover, who now loves someone else and is getting married tomorrow. During the call, the woman reveals that she has attempted suicide because her lover has abandoned her. A Poulenc masterpiece exploring themes of deception, lies, depression and suicide. In the KLCO’s production, the role of the woman, aptly named Elle is performed by Malaysian mezzo-soprano, YiLing Chaing accompanied by KLCO resident conductor, Dr. Juan Montoya. La Voix Humaine translated in English to mean “The Human Voice” will be sung in French with English and Chinese subtitles. The monodrama first premiered on February 6, 1969 at the Opéra-Comique, Paris and was later adapted into a movie starring Denise Duval in 1971 and again in 2018, starring award-winning British actress, Rosamund Pike.  This KLCO production is supported by venue sponsor, PJPAC, UiTM, Graceful Piano and the Embassy of Italy in Kuala Lumpur.
