About the Artist:
Ethel Deidre is a Sabahan dancer-choreographer who weaves deconstruction, blending culture, spirituality, objects and space into her choreography. Her works often embrace chaos and play, exploring gender roles, femininity, and masculinity through confrontation, reflection, and ritual. Through this dynamic interplay of mediums, she pushes the boundaries of what dance and performance can convey, continually seeking fresh ways to curate embodied experience. Somehow, all this still couldn’t fully capture what she truly wants to work with. A curious being at heart, Ethel is always ready to play with whatever element is thrown to her. Her element is: adapting.
