About This Event

The Zhuang Ethnic Tea-Picking Dance originates from the daily labor scenes of the Zhuang people. Its movements are delicate and graceful, with a lively and light rhythm that celebrates the beauty of labor and the joy of life. The dance features both male and female performers — the men called “Tea Masters” and the women “Tea Maidens” — using fans as props. Through playful and expressive movements such as circling, tapping, and flipping the fan, the dance beautifully integrates rhythm and motion. By learning the body language, rhythmic characteristics, and expressive style of the Zhuang dance, participants can experience the rich folk traditions and artistic spirit of Guangxi, embracing the Eastern aesthetic of harmony between humans and nature.
