Carsick Cars Live in Kuala Lumpur

Formed in 2005, Carsick Cars is an emblematic indie band that started its activities centered in Beijing, gaining strong support from figures in the Chinese music industry and sophisticated young music enthusiasts. They are affiliated with the music label “Maybe Mars,” which has produced outstanding indie bands in China. 

Carsick Cars consisted of Shou Wang (Vocal, Guitar) , Li Weisi (Bass) and Li Qing (Drums). Influenced by "the drone of Velvet Underground and Sonic Youth and the textures and structures of Steve Reich and Glenn Branca", Carsick Cars remain one of mainland China's seminal, experimental noise-rock bands.

Carsick Cars' international touring history includes supporting Sonic Youth in Europe (2007), performing at the Steirischer Herbst Festival in Austria (2007) and All Tomorrow’s Parties in London (May 2008), and several U.S. tours (SXSW, etc.).
