About This Event

“Passing on Tradition, Shining in the East” is a prestigious show funded by the China National Arts Fund 2024, one of the only twelve selected from over 6,000 applications in Hong Kong. This “mini Cantonese Opera” features classic Hong Kong Cantonese Opera excerpts performed by artist Lai Wai Ming and her students, blending tradition with innovation to embody the essence of cultural preservation. 

《粵藝精萃承傳耀東方》是中國國家藝術基金2024年的資助項目，在六千多申請中，只有十二個香港項目入選。《粵藝精萃承傳耀東方》是一節從香港經典粵劇選段組成之「微粵劇」，由名伶劉惠鳴老師及學生們合演，展現傳統與創新的藝術結晶，更充分詮釋「承傳」二字的意義。

In 2025, “Passing on Tradition, Shining in the East” Cultural Exchange Program is proudly supported by the Culture, Sports and Tourism Bureau, HKSAR. This meaningful collaboration between Hong Kong Ming Yeung Arts House and Persatuan Pat Woh Malaysia features renowned artists Lau Wai Ming and Lin Yingshi alongside passionate young Cantonese Opera performers from both regions. 

2025年，《粵藝精萃承傳耀東方》文化交流演出計劃，有幸得到香港文化體育及旅遊局資助，這次表演別具意義，由香港名揚藝苑聯同馬來西亞八和會館攜手合作，由香港名伶劉惠鳴和林穎施帶領，聯同兩地喜愛粵劇的孩子們演出。

Together, we bridge the borders to preserve the cultural heritage, showcasing the vibrant Cantonese Opera traditions of Hong Kong and Malaysia!
