Foreign workers, NGOs, organisations and individuals from various ethnic group will cook their traditional or hometown dishes and share dishes with us. Total number of dishes: about 8 booths, including:

Indonesian, Burmese, Malay, Pakistanis, Vietnamese, Indian, Chin and Chinese.

🍴 Free Food Alert: Yes, the food will be FREE! But be quick, as it’s available in limited quantities. Make sure you come early to savor the flavors from around the world! 🌎

Disposable dishwares and packing bags/containers are not encouraged. We will encourage you to bring your own set of dishwares and bags, and provide a washing place.

🖼️ Mini Exhibition of Multicultural Stories | 多元文化故事展览 🖼️

Students from New Era University College engage with the original and new residents from various ethnic group of Kampung Kwan Tung Baru to capture their stories about food and life experiences. They conduct interviews, take photographs, and record videos to showcase the unique narratives of this community.

These stories compiled into articles and videos, which will be exhibited and screened on the day of the event. This initiative aims to help everyone appreciate the vibrant life of Kampung Kwan Tung Baru.

新纪元大学学院的大学生走进关东村社区，与原居民和来自不同族群的新居民互动，捕捉了他们关于饮食与生活体验的故事。他们通过采访、拍摄照片和录制影片，展示出关东村社区独特的多元文化风貌。

这些故事将被整理成展览文章和影片，并在活动当天进行展览和放映。希望可以让每个人都能更好地欣赏关东村蕴藏的独特活力与多元文化气息。

🎥 Documentary Screening: Flavours, Feelings & Hopes | 纪录片放映：《滋味、感觉与希望》 🎥

Rasa dan Asa is a video that follows PERTIMIG's activities and its members' journey during the Covid-19 pandemic. Besides recordings of online events between June and September 2021, most footage in the film was shot remotely by the PERTIMIG members using their smartphones during the Movement Control Order in Malaysia. PERTIMIG is currently using the video for reaching out to other domestic workers in Malaysia.

PERTIMIG (Indonesian Migrant Domestic Workers Association in Malaysia), is an independent organization fighting for the rights of migrant domestic workers. PERTIMIG’s vision is to advocate for decent work and welfare for the domestic workers in Malaysia.

《滋味、感觉与希望》是一部记录PERTIMIG （马来西亚印尼家务工协会）活动及其成员在新冠疫情期间的纪录片。除了2021年6月至9月期间线上活动的录制外，影片中的大部分镜头都是由PERTIMIG成员在马来西亚的行动管制令期间，使用智能手机远程拍摄的。PERTIMIG目前正在利用这部纪录片来凝聚其他在马来西亚工作的外籍家庭帮佣。

PERTIMIG（马来西亚印尼家务工协会）是一个独立组织，致力于为外籍家庭帮佣争取权益。PERTIMIG的愿景是倡导马来西亚外籍家庭帮佣能够拥有更体面的工作环境和福利。

🎥 Food Documentary: Saji Kanji | 饮食纪录片放映：《淀食物语》🎥

JinnD Production is delighted to bring its presentation, SAJI KANJI: FOOD DOCUMENTARY, a special screening that highlights the documentary segment from SAJI KANJI: AN EXHIBITION. This screening will take place at Balai Raya Kampung Kwan Tung Baru, on Sunday, 6 October 2024.

For three months, JinnD Production embarked on ethnographic research to explore the food culture by different communities in Malaysia, by conducting interviews, observations, and participatory activities to gain insights into the community food culture, daily gestures, and relationship with the environment.

JinnD Production 将呈献《淀食物语》特别放映，此次放映将展出自”SAJI KANJI 策展“ 中的纪录片部分。将于2024年10月6日（星期日）在关东村委会会所进行放映。

为期三个月，JinnD Production 进行了一项民族志研究，深入探讨马来西亚各个社区的饮食文化。通过采访、观察及参与式活动，团队深入了解多元社区中的饮食习惯、日常生活中的动作细节以及人与社会环境的互动关系。

🎤 Multicultural Performances | 多元文化表演 🎤

To create a more multicultural atmosphere at the Kwan Tung Baru Village International Culture and Food Festival, we are honored to invite performers from diverse cultural backgrounds. First, we have Master Siva Shanmugam, a traditional Indian dance performer who has been active in the Kajang area for many years but has recently been less visible. Next, we welcome Lucy Thai Doan Diep Tran, a Vietnamese lady who has just started a new life in Kajang and has a passion for singing.

We also have Lee Soo Woon, a singing enthusiast and graduate of the Media Studies program at New Era University College, who is now a journalist. Additionally, Lim Nam Dong, the secretary of the Kwan Tung Baru Village Management Committee, will share his Vietnamese heritage with us.

Finally, we are excited to feature Vicky Thant Thitsa Aung, the founder of the NGO organization Glocal Community Cohesion Creativity from Myanmar. She will perform an original song in Burmese that calls for environmental protection, perfectly aligning with the green and sustainable theme of this small international culture and food festival!

为了让关东国际文化美食节更具多元文化氛围，我们荣幸邀请到来自不同文化背景的表演者。首先是活跃于加影地区多年、但近期较少露面的传统印度舞蹈表演者 Master Siva Shanmugam；接着是刚来到加影不久、热爱歌唱的越南女士Lucy Thai Doan Diep Tran；还有毕业于加影新纪元大学学院媒体研究系、现为新闻工作者的歌唱爱好者李素雯，以及关东村管理委员会秘书、拥有越南背景的林南冬。

最后，我们特别邀请到了来自缅甸的非盈利组织Glocal Community Cohesion Creativity创办人兼音乐创作歌手Vicky Thant Thitsa Aung，她将演唱一首呼吁环保的缅甸语原创歌曲，以呼应此次具有绿色永续主题的国际文化美食节！
