Weave Your Dreams with Nini Marini

Nini Marini is one of Malaysia’s beloved multi-artist, with an affinity to large, colour inspired illustrative works, as well as traditional textile crafts. Integrating her principle of #playmake, to make things with her hands and holding space for play; Weave Your Dreams will be a woven dream-catcher creative session utilising fabrics from a familiar class act: fashion designer Syomirizwa Gupta.

Expect a time of softening, reflecting on dreams, setting intentions and learning with sensitivity. Nini is a steady hand in the gentle art of patience, and her chill space is one of learning new skills and having fun!

About Nini:

Nini did her first ever art mural with paint and mirrors in the Palate Palette wall upstairs in the form of a beautiful peacock. She is a treasured artist and long-time supporter of PP.

For 20-years Nini balanced working full time in corporate (media) and creating art on the side. In 2019, (just before the pandemic!) she decided to quit her job to focus on my art. Nini is a a graduate of The University of Birmingham’s Institute of Art and Design, in Visual Communications (Time-Based Media), UK.

She continues to experiment with other methods of creation too, for example  installations, murals, fashion, textiles crafts and even dabbling with artificial intelligence. She also find purpose in teaching the joy of art making to people.

To get inspired Nini likes to #playmake. This means making things with her hands (arts & crafts). She believes the best way to make art is in a state of play and wants to encourage more to embrace art by holding space for people to create!
