The Souvenir Effect is a contemporary dance performance by Shu-May Dance Company. Created and performed by choreographic duo Ashlynn Edward & Nathalynn Edward Lim, the company’s debut production presents a somber duet in hopes to bring attention to grief - an often overlooked and misunderstood process.

Shu-May Dance Company (SMDC)

Shu-May Dance Company (SMDC) is an enthusiastic newcomer to the Malaysian arts scene. Founded in 2023 by dancers and choreographers, Ashlynn Edward & Nathalynn Edward Lim, the Penang-born artistes aim to bring thought-provoking contemporary work that inspires soul and society through performance art.
